Jordan Spieth at PGA Championship 2016: Friday Leaderboard Score and Reaction

Following an even-par 70 in the first round, Spieth settled in at Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, New Jersey, and he put himself in position to contend over the weekend. Here is a look at the leaderboard as things currently stand:
Spieth posted five birdies and just two bogeys en route to his impressive score, as seen in the following rundown of his second-round scorecard:
The two-time major champion carded 15 pars in the first round, but it was apparent early Friday that his second round would have a far different feel.
Spieth started his day on the back nine and immediately birdied the par-four 10th before following that up with a second birdie on the 11th.
He initially seemed destined for disaster on his second hole of the day after his drive found the fairway bunker, but he made up for it with a spectacular approach, as seen in this video, courtesy of PGA.com:
Spieth gave a stroke back by slipping up and bogeying the par-three 12th due to some uncharacteristically poor putting, but it didn't take him long to get back on track.
The 23-year-old superstar made his third birdie putt in four holes on the 13th thanks to more heroics out of the bunker:
Spieth then closed out his sparkling first-nine performance on the Baltusrol back nine by birdying both the 17th and 18th holes, with the following putt serving as the exclamation point to a spectacular start:
