The two-time major champion is now nestled comfortably below the leaders at six under with moving day on the horizon.

Spieth started his day on the back nine, and that figured to be good news for the world No. 3 after he carded birdies on Nos. 10 and 12 during first-round play.
And while he failed to convert birdie opportunities on his first three holes during Round 2, Spieth broke through with an impressive conversion on No. 13.
After his approach shot found the right rough, Spieth holed out from approximately 24 feet out thanks to a brilliant chip shot, as the PGA Tour documented on Twitter:
Spieth encountered trouble when he made bogey on No. 17 for his second back-nine slip-up of the week, but he rebounded on the par-five second with his second birdie of the day to move back to four under.
And the 23-year-old didn't stop there.
As the PGA Tour displayed on Twitter, Spieth proceeded to stick his tee shot on the par-three third within inches of the hole, and his climb up the leaderboard continued with a tap-in for birdie:
As was the case Friday, Spieth didn't let brief struggles throw a wrench into his round.
