The American superstar appeared frustrated throughout the round, seemingly getting outfoxed by the famous links course in Scotland.
Spieth had to wait until the end of the round to find out if he had made the cut, and he was successful by the narrowest of margins.
The prodigy suffered with the putter in hand and found it difficult to read the soaked greens during his second-round effort.

Spieth Suffers and Fails To Deliver The American wonder was way below his best at the British Open and fought against the wind as he played out a theatrical personal battle at Royal Troon.
Spieth's swing looked solid off the tee throughout the day, but his short game and putting left much to be desired.
The major winner flirted with the projected cut throughout Friday and ended level with the final total to remain in the competition ahead of the third round.
The young golfer appeared solid over the opening three holes, despite bogeying the first. He sank a birdie on the fourth to fire his round.
However, a bogey on the sixth tripped up the 2015 U.S Open and Masters winner, as he fell to one over. A double bogey on the eighth compounded the superstar's misery, as he failed to deal with the cold conditions.
ESPN.com's Michael Collins speculated about Spieth's fate:
