With that said, three players are within one stroke of the lead—and that's exactly why you need to shift your attention to the top contenders.
Tommy Fleetwood of England and Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina are currently in the lead at 16 under par. Right behind them is Fredrik Andersson Hed of Sweden, who clocks in at 15 under par for the event.
Fleetwood and Gonzalez have traveled different paths to No. 1 overall, but they're tied, nonetheless. Andersson Hed has been a step behind all along, but appears primed and ready to pounce on the opportunity to win the event.
This European Tour event is going to go down to the wire.

Andersson Hed has been the poster child for progression during the Johnnie Walker Championship, posting rounds of 68, 67 and 66. This has brought Andersson Hed a total score of 201, equaling a score of 15-under par.
Just one stroke off of the lead, the Swedish star will tee off at 12:36 p.m. BST/7:36 a.m. ET.
He was sensational during the third round, holing just one bogey all day. He converted five birdies and an eagle to bring his score to six under par, putting the leaders on notice that he's come to win.
Andersson Hed certainly has the most momentum of any of the three leaders, but it's unclear if he'll be able to close out. He hasn't won a European Tour event since the 2010 BMW Italian Open and will need yet another monster effort to earn a victory.
Just don't ever underestimate the power of momentum.
