Hank Haney Resigns as Tiger Woods’ Swing Coach

In a statement released to the Golf Channel, Haney said, "I have informed Tiger Woods this evening that I will no longer be his coach."
This happening the day after Tiger withdrew from The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, reporting he had a neck injury and just hours after Woods held a press conference where he told reporters that he is unsure when he will return to golf.
Haney continued with, "I believe that there is a time and a place for everything, and I feel at this time and at this place in my life I want to move forward in other areas."
Woods has won 31 PGA Tour events and six Majors with Haney as his swing coach.
Is this all just coincidence? Not likely.
With all the latest scandals surrounding Tiger, it is finally taking a toll on his golf game, affecting both his playing abilities and his relationships within the golf community.
After Tiger's five month hiatus from golf, and the public for that matter, he made his comeback on the most famous stage in golf, the Masters at Augusta.
Things looked up, as Tiger stayed close behind the lead through Sunday, eventually tying for fourth. He almost seemed unfazed, but after missing the cut at Quail Hollow in his next tournament back, his Masters performance seemed to only be an adrenaline rush.
"I will always appreciate the opportunity that I have had to contribute to his successes," Haney said. "However, I believe at this time that it is in both of our best interests for me to step aside as Tiger's coach."
Haney furthered, "Tiger has been through a lot in the last six months, and I really believe that given the chance, mind free and injury free, we will see Tiger Woods play once again like we all know he can."
