Watson will be challenged by U.S. Open runner-up Louis Oosthuizen, who couldn't keep his run of good form going after brilliantly navigating Chambers Bay and missed the cut at the Travelers. Speaking of a run of bad form, Tiger Woods will take on The Old White TPC in his first start since his horrific showing in the U.S. Open, missing the cut after scores of 80 and 76.
Luckily for the players entering the Greenbrier Classic with little momentum, The Old White TPC is known to yield some pretty low numbers and is a great course to build confidence. In fact, in the tournament's inaugural year (2011), Stuart Appleby shot a final-round 59 to claim the title. In both 2012 and 2014, the eventual winners both shot a pair of 64s over the weekend to emerge victorious.
Needless to say, we should expect to see some fireworks—and not just because the Fourth of July is approaching.
