Graeme McDowell Doesn’t Appreciate ‘Mashed Potatoes!’ from the Gallery

Let me clarify.
He may love the creamy goodness that is cooked potatoes mashed with some butter and cream, but he is fairly annoyed by people yelling "Mashed potatoes!"
Deadspin featured this video of the golfer at the World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks. According to the report, McDowell, who would go on to win the tournament, was hitting an approach shot on 16.
Right after he chips the shot onto the green, someone from the gallery yells "Mashed potatoes!"—a phrase usually relegated to an enormous drive.
McDowell answers back with a famed gesture for which he actually apologized after the round. He tweeted:
Thanks for all the messages guys. Fun weekend. Oops on the signal to "mashed potato guy" but it gets a little annoying after a while.

I am sure this is completely annoying for golfers who have to hear it pretty much any time they tee off, but we fans who get it sporadically find it hilarious.
