George McNeil Playing Very Good Golf at The John Deere Classic

McNeil has had a quiet career in the PGA with no wins. He has career earnings of almost five million dollars. That's not bad work, if you can get it.
George McNeil's best finish this season is a tie for fifth at the Northern Trust Open, and is 112th on the money list. THis could be a big Fed-Ex Cup point boost and payday as well for McNeil.
Then there's Matt Jones, who at one point had it to minus 13 yesterday, but dropped back to tie McNeil and our other contender.
Matt Jones is from Sydney, New South Wales, and has been a pro for nine years with career earnings of almost three million dollars.
He has four top ten finishes and could also break through in a big way if he keeps up the solid play this weekend.
Last but certainly not least is Jeff Maggert, a fine player with career earnings of over 17 1/2 million dollars since 1986.
Maggert's best finish this season is a tie for sixth at the Shell Houston Open.
It's amazing how much money these guys can make just averaging around 71 all season on these difficult courses. Many are designed now to take the edge off the technological advancements of modern golf equipment.
I think the players are winning, carding 59s and 60s this week.
Other players with a chance to contend on Sunday include Aaron Baddeley and Brendon De Jonge both at minus 10. James Nitties and Boo Weekley are right behind them at minus nine.
Well, my Yahoo Fantasy Team has had a first. Three players missed the cut. K.J. Choi, Fredrik Jacobson and Joe Durant.
