FedEx Cup Standings 2016: Latest Rankings Before Deutsche Bank Championship

The top 100 players in the standings after The Barclays move on to the Deutsche Bank Championship, which will then narrow the field down to 70 for the BMW Championship and eventually just 30 for the Tour Championship. Each event has its own prize, but the real focus for the players is to stay alive for a chance to bring home the FedEx Cup title at the end of September.
These playoff events feature high point totals and in turn quick swings in the standings, but here are the latest results heading into the weekend.
Patrick Reed was already the big winner to kick off the late-season tournaments.
The American earned a come-from-behind victory over Rickie Fowler and others at The Barclays, which gave Reed quite a bit to celebrate, per the Associated Press:
He was right on the bubble for a Ryder Cup spot before the week began but clinched one of eight automatic spots on the United States team with the win. He also zoomed into first place from his seventh-place spot with his first victory of the year.
On the other hand, taking an early lead hasn't always worked out well for players in the past, per ESPN Stats & Info:
Reed will have to fight off a long list of talented players who are capable of getting hot in a hurry.
Jason Day, who ranks second in the FedEx Cup standings with a tour-best three wins this year, showed how tough it is to win this event a year ago. After winning the PGA Championship, he followed up with a victory at The Barclays and later the BMW Championship.
Unfortunately, just a 10th-place finish at the Tour Championship left the door open for Jordan Spieth to win the top prize.
Henrik Stenson won the event in 2013 with victories at the Deutsche Bank Champion...
