FedEx Cup Standings 2014: Playoff Projections and Points Rankings After Day 2

Entering this weekend's tournament, it was Hunter Mahan atop the points leaderboard after he won at The Barclays the week prior. He was just barely ahead of Rory McIlroy, who held a sizable lead entering the playoffs thanks to his dominating finish to 2014.
But with players putting themselves in position for big finishes this weekend, and others falling into the background, the leaderboard has already taken some serious twists and turns through just one half of the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Here is a look at the current projected FedEx Cup leaderboard.

Playoff Outlook
As the second of four FedEx Cup playoff tournaments, the Deutsche Bank Championship is when the top contenders should be hitting their strides.
With 125 golfers making The Barclays, the field is trimmed down to 70 by the time Labor Day comes to a close. But it's much more than just remaining one of the top 70 golfers that has contenders itching to play their best golf.
Instead, it's a whopping 2,500 points awarded to the winner that makes winning at the Deutsche Bank a huge springboard toward a possible FedEx Cup title and a cool $10 million bonus.
Here's a look at what each finishing place offers:
So far this weekend at the TPC Boston, it has been Ryan Palmer taking advantage of the opportunity.
Palmer blew the field out of the water with his opening round on Friday, posting an eight-under round of 63 that included just one bogey. He birdied his final four holes, and nine in all.
