The PGA Tour's annual trek to Torrey Pines in January signals the first big tournament of the new golf season. Stars like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson made their first starts of the new calendar year at the event.
With a purse of $6.1 million and a winner's take of just over $1 million, the entry list for the Farmers Insurance Open was swelling with recognizable fixtures from the PGA Tour.
