Fantasy Golf Picks and Facts: the RBC Canadian Open at St. George’s

Golfer's in Canada have a short season as you would imagine, but the scenery sure is nice. Ducks and Geese with the occasional bear sighting makes golf in Canada pretty spectacular.
In Yahoo! Fantasy Golf, I survived the British Open, gaining points all four days with my team of Tiger Woods, Lee Westwood, Retief Goosen and Justin Rose.
I am now at 4,063 points, in the 85th percentile, and position number 22,277. And Westwood, Goosen, and Woods will get more points on Sunday.
There is one Yahoo! expert still ahead of me by 52 points. Matt Romig is his name, and I will catch him this season.
This week will be pivotal in doing just that, as your fantasy selections must get smart in Canada this coming week.
Some bigger names are resting after a long trip to St. Andrews and actually sometimes take a little mini-vacation from the grind of making millions on the Tour to see some sights.
Getting to this week's picks for the RBC Canadian Open, in my A-player will be Scott Verplank who plays pretty well here, and has three top tens this season. One of those was a top three.
His bench backup I have selected is Bill Haas, who has a win this season on tour and is decently placed on the Fed Ex Cup point standings list.
In the B-player spots will be Goosen and Sean O' Hair, both playing well at the Open last week.
In case of trouble on the bench for them are Fred Couples and Kevin Na.
The C-player is the steady Matt Kuchar, with his backup being Ricky Barnes who may win at any time soon on the PGA Tour.
So it's Verplank, Goosen, O Hair, and Kuchar this week.
Hmmmmm. We shall see.
