Pettersen shot a final-round 68, putting her at 10 under par for the tournament. Ko finished eight-under, while Lexi Thompson rounded out the top three at six-under.
The leader coming into the day, Mika Miyazato, had a dreadful day, shooting a 78 to put her at one-under for the tournament, tied for 15th overall. She finished Sunday with four bogeys, one double-bogey and a triple-bogey, all after bogeying just three holes in the first two rounds.
Ko came into the day in second place and didn't budge form that position, as bogeys on the fourth and 13th holes cost her. Still, the 16-year-old played with incredible composure during the duration of this tournament and hardly can be disappointed after shooting one-under in the final round.
But the steady Pettersen was not to be stopped. Birdies on the second and third holes saw her jump out to a strong start after coming into the day tied for second, and she would add two more on the eighth and 15th holes. Her only hiccup was a bogey at seven.
Last year's winner of the Evian Masters—the final year before the event was added as a major and re-named the Evian Championship—Inbee Park, finished eight-over and tied for 67th place. After birdieing eight holes in the final round a year ago, she was never in the running this time around.
The tournament was reduced to 54 holes after rain canceled the proceedings on Thursday, barely an hour into play. Those scores were eliminated, the event officially began on Friday and the decision was made to reduce the tournament by a round rather than attempt to play 36 holes on Sunday in less than ideal conditions.
