D.H. Lee Caught Giving Middle Finger During Round 3 of AT&T National

Unfortunately for Lee, TV cameras captured the scene, and it was initially thought that the 25-year-old golfer was directing his anger at the gallery. The ESPN video below captures the scene.

Golf Channel's Jason Sobel reported afterward, though, that Lee had in fact done it to himself. Sobel logged Lee's post-round comments:
Lee's frustration was understandable, in a sense. To begin Saturday's action, Lee was just two shots off the lead and in hot pursuit of his first tour victory.
It all began to unravel with a double bogey on the par-three 10th, though.
Lee responded with a birdie on the subsequent hole and was just a tad long on the shot that resulted in the inappropriate gesture. Had he gotten the two dropped shots back from No. 10 with back-to-back birdies, his round could have turned around and his chances of winning could have still been favorable.
As it turns out, the negative mindset Lee displayed to the spectators of this Tiger Woods-hosted tournament was an indication of where his day was heading.
Congressional is a difficult enough golf course, and Lee's mood wasn't helping the cause. He bogeyed three more holes en route to a four-over 75 in Round 3.
Victory seemed within reach, but now that Lee is at one under par overall—six shots behind co-leaders Bill Haas, Andres Romero, Roberto Castro and James Driscoll—perhaps another week will be Lee's time to shine.
For now, he will have to weather the criticism that will likely accompany the flareup he had in Bethesda, Md.
