The 2014 Crowne Plaza Invitational capped off four days of thrilling action with a sudden-death playoff between new world No. 1 Adam Scott and Jason Dufner, with the world's best coming out on top after three holes.
With the victory, Scott completed his Texas sweep by winning the fourth tournament of his career in the state and retained the No. 1 spot after earning it the week prior.
The historic tournament—one of five invitational tournaments on the PGA Tour—in Fort Worth, Texas, began 68 years ago in 1946 and this year featured an underdog defending champion and a new world No. 1.

Day 4 Recap
It was only right that one of the year's most entertaining and competitive tournaments ended with a playoff between two of the sport's best in Scott and Dufner.
After a fourth round on Sunday, both men were tied at a total nine-under par after they both scored a 66 on the day.

In the end, it was Scott who came up clutch on the third hole as the two went back and forth on the course's final two holes:

The playoff marked the 11th in tournament history and Scott moved to 3-0 all time in the playoff format for his career on the PGA Tour. Meanwhile, Dufner dropped to 1-3.
Scott said after his victory that his Texas goal was the focus, as captured by Mike McAllister of PGATour.com:
"This is really a special week for me," Scott said. "... I was determined. I really wanted to win 'em all here in Texas...
