Six former NFL stars head up the cast in the 20th season of the show. The former players appearing are Jerry Rice, Chris Doleman, Tim Brown, Mark Rypien, Marc Bulger and Al Del Greco.
OK, so maybe they aren't all former stars. I mean, Al Del Greco was a kicker, after all. A good kicker, but not exactly a household name. He is one heck of a golfer, though.
Del Greco is a one handicap. He's won the NFL Division of Champions Tour Cadillac NFL Classic five times, and he's played in two Web.com events.
His one handicap ties Jerry Rice for the lowest of the NFL players, and all of these guys are good sticks. With a four handicap, former Rams quarterback Marc Bulger has the lowest mark in the field.
In the 20th season of this show, the format will be a little different. There are six teams, and each is headed up by a former player and includes two former contestants from the show.
Instead of eliminations after every show, teams will be eliminated after picking up two losses.
This season, these guys will leap into action by starting off with the Glass Break Challenge. This should help the former NFL players feel right at home, as they will be using their power to break things.
Of course, I don't even understand why this is a challenge.
Panes of glass are set in front of the players, and they have to, as the name implies, break the glass. However, there is nothing between the players and the glass. I've broken panes of glass that are hundreds of yards away and on the other side of a street, a row of big trees, houses, small lakes, oceans, you name it.
