Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie and Tom Watson in the Hunt at Senior PGA

At 64 years old, Tom Watson was the elder statesman of the group, but the kids, Bernhard Langer (56) and Colin Montgomerie, (50) did not get the better of him.
All three players finished the first 36 holes at four under par and are near the top of the leaderboard.
Langer, Montgomerie and Watson are all members of the World Golf Hall of Fame, and all three have captained winning Ryder Cup teams.
Watson was the Ryder Cup captain for the U.S. team that won in 1993 at The Belfry and will captain the 2014 team at Gleneagles in September.
Langer was a member of 10 European Ryder Cup teams and was the winning captain when the Europeans routed the Americans 18.5-9.5 at Oakland Hills in 2004.
Montgomerie was a member of eight European Ryder Cup teams and amassed a record of 20-9-7. He never lost a singles match in Ryder Cup play and ended with a 6-0-2 record. He was also the captain for the European Team that won at Celtic Manor in 2010.
The three players seemed to enjoy one another’s company on the golf course and turned in excellent scoring efforts on a very difficult Harbor Shores golf course.
Langer has hit 24 of 26 fairways through the first two rounds, and Montgomerie is dropping his high fades softly into the undulating greens.
Watson still has the superior ball-striking ability that allowed him to win eight major championships, and he was able to find his putting touch over and around the humps and bumps.
Montgomerie was extremely animated in the press room after his round on Friday and in high spirits. Watson had mentioned in his press conference on Wednesday that Monty’s high fades would be an advantage this week.
