Garcia fired a two-under 69 to now sit at 10-under for the tournament. Nick Watney, who began the day tied with Garcia, was even, and he is alone in second place.
During his recent resurgence, Garcia has shown poise, consistency and a short game which have been absent in recent seasons.
He has always been a great ball-striker, but his chipping and especially putting have taken extended breaks over the course of his career. He has been smooth and in control in this tournament.
Garcia also can let a few bad shots get in his head and destroy his round. In other words, he will compound mistakes.
This below shot is a great example of how in control he is right now.
This is a fantastic play, and it shows solid focus and decision -making by Garcia to pull it off. He could have this locked up by the turn on Sunday.
