Snedeker has established himself as one of the premier names in golf, and this win further cements his ascent into the mainstream. Check out just how dominant the American has been, courtesy of the PGA Tour:
The day started with Snedeker and Chris Hahn atop the leaderboard, tied at 12-under par, with Kirk and Patrick Reed not far behind. Neither Reed nor Hahn could keep pace with the tremendous performances from Snedeker and his closest competitors, as Kirk, Stadler and Walker all excelled on the tournament's final day.
Snedeker set the tone early with an eagle on the par-five second hole, and he took off from there. He continued to birdie three of the next five holes to establish a big lead that he would hold for the remainder of the tournament.
He managed to do this despite a rib injury threatening his ability to finish the tournament, further illustrating how incredible Snedeker's performance really was.
There was some drama, however, as Kirk really caught fire near the end of the tournament. Kirk birdied three-of-four holes at one point in his comeback bid, but he eventually leveled off to finish second.
Kevin Stadler's excellent round is also worthy of notice. He wasn't even in the top 10 after Day 3, but Stadler's brilliant seven-under round, free of any bogeys, put the American in the top five by the tournament's end.
