Two consecutive runner-up finishes to Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson respectively preceded this event for Snedeker, who has emerged as one of the premier players in golf to start the 2013 season.

Due to the unique nature of the tournament, which features a slew of high-profile celebrities, play is stretched across three different, beautiful California courses—Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill and the Monterrey Peninsula Golf Club.
Potter has yet to play the most difficult track at Spyglass, which is where Snedeker was on Friday.
But the results for Potter have to be encouraging nevertheless. He opened the day in Monterrey with a bang, carding an eagle on the par-five 10th hole.
A true journeyman, Potter broke through by winning the Greenbrier Classic last year. However, the game has not been as kind to him recently, as the PGA Tour's official Twitter page noted when he briefly snagged the outright lead.
Potter exploded for four birdies in seven holes to open up the back nine before bogeying No. 9 to finish at three under for the afternoon.
