Don't be fooled.
This event will certainly dazzle and thrill fans, featuring one of the most competitive and eclectic fields of the PGA Tour season July 1 through July 4.
Tour pros will compete at the stunningly picturesque Aronimink Golf Course, which is nestled in the rolling hills outside of Philadelphia.
However, beauty can be deceptive.
The evergreens and hardwoods that line the narrow, severely sloping fairways at Aronimink have an insatiable appetite for golf balls.
Compact, undulating, and treacherously fast putting greens will certainly precipitate a perplexing task.
But as demanding and puzzling of a challenge as Aronimink may pose, this week's field features some of the most gifted golfers in the world.
From 21-year-old sensation Rickie Fowler, who refuses to consult a mirror before hitting a golf ball, to Ricky Barnes, who has an impeccable six top-10's this season—there is no shortage of talent this week.
Dustin Johnson enters the AT&T in his first tournament since he mentally imploded, while his game exploded, during the US Open at Pebble Beach Golf Course two weeks ago. After letting his final-round lead slip away, Johnson never quite recovered.
However, Johnson could be revitalized with a solid, consistent performance at Aronimink.
Sean O'Hair is one of the only PGA Tour players with extensive experience on the Aronimink golf course. With eight top-25 finishes in the 2010 season, Aronimink may be the ideal location for his elusive, first victory of the season.
On a course that requires precision and strategy, Jim Furyk is the favorite this week.
