AT&T National 2012: Tiger Woods Will Take Field by Storm at Congressional

The 2012 AT&T National tournament is underway, as Woods is easily in comfortable position to take the title. Given his previous title in 2009 at Congressional, as well as his impressive play thus far in the first two rounds, there is no question the former World's best has what it takes to win a third title this season.
These are the three reasons why Woods has the clear edge at the 2012 AT&T National.
Impressive, Bounce-Back Play In Round 2
In Round 1, the back nine was where Tiger Woods struggled, shooting two bogeys for a score of one-over on the day.
Yet in Round 2, he had a significantly better performance in holes nine through 18, drilling pars left and right and failing to bogey once. He also added in an eagle on hole 16 that gave him a total score of two-under par in the back nine.
If Woods can continue to improve his proficiency on each hole going forward, this will mean big things for the top-notch talent come Sunday.
Putting The Ball Well
For the tournament, Woods is currently averaging 1.8 puts per hole, an average that he has to be content with through the first 29 holes.
What has helped his putting has been his driving game, which has been on point coming into the tournament. At the U.S. Open, in spite of scoring seven-over par, Woods nailed 58.93 percent of fairways. The mark was the seventh-best at the Open.
Putting has been his Achilles-heel since coming back from his injuries and off-the-field issues. If Tiger Woods expects to get back to being the best in the sport, it will undoubtedly start with the putter.
