Regardless of expertise on the links, few competitors enjoy playing in unpredictable weather conditions. Hard rain, strong winds and other issues could cause a decent round to go south in a hurry. Fortunately, the officials recognized this and delayed the round.
When play picks up, however, these players should be better off as they look to win the 2013 tournament.
Tiger Woods
The superstar has been playing as well as anyone on tour in recent weeks, so you would think that any delay would cool off his hot streak.
However, Tiger Woods is one of the best ever to play the sport, and he has won in plenty of ways over his career.
He has won in good conditions, bad conditions and simply bizarre situations. Last year, he won the AT&T National after a round was played without fans (via FOX News).
Woods knows how to keep himself level-headed better than anyone else in the field, and that alone will help him survive this suspended tournament and keep his lead.
Justin Rose
Standing at eight-under par, Justin Rose is very much alive in this tournament. However, he needs some time off to clear his head.
After two birdies and an eagle in his first four holes of Round 3, Rose was only able to finish with a 72 thanks to five bogeys. Things started off poorly in Round 4 with another bogey on the first hole to drop him four strokes off the lead.
It is unclear whether fatigue is playing a role in the struggles or if the problem is just mental, but either way, an extra day will be helpful.
