The Englishman ended the day on four under for his second round at the St. Andrews Old Course to keep his nose in front of overnight leader Alex Noren and his Swedish countryman Joakim Lagergren.
Noren could only muster one-under par at Kingsbarns on Friday, allowing Fisher a two-shot advantage over his score. A late sprint by Lagergren saw him finish a shot behind the lead.

Friday Recap Fisher was in fluid form on Friday, with the 35-year-old stringing together a clinical round at St. Andrews.
The Ascot-born talent recorded four birdies on the front nine and a further three on the back as he wrested control from Noren. The Swede had played a course record at the Championship Course at Carnoustie on Thursday but was far from his best during Round 2.

It could have been even better for Fisher as he came down the home stretch, but three bogey putts on his last seven holes punctured his finish.
Lagergren also caught and leapfrogged Noren at the end of play, hitting a strong round that matched the leader—scoring four under to end on 134 after two rounds—a solitary shot behind Fisher.
The Swedish starlet from Stockholm ticked along consistently with two birdies and an eagle on No. 3.
Noren will be disappointed to be slightly off the pace after Thursday's original success, but Kingsbarns gave him trouble when he appeared in control....
