Alfred Dunhill Links Championship 2013 Leaderboard: Standings Heading into Day 4

American Peter Uihlein has risen to the top of the 2013 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship leaderboard heading into the final day of the tournament. His second-shot eagle on the 18th hole gave him the lead. Hitting a wedge from 47 yards out, Uihlein holed it to complete a third-round 65.
Sunday’s final round is set to be an exciting climax to the four-day event, as there are six golfers just one stroke behind him. Seven others are within three of Uihlein as they transition to Day 4.

Golfers to Watch on Day 4

The American wasn’t always atop the leaderboard. After shooting an opening-round 71, Uihlein was significantly off the pace of the leaders. But he used that poor start to fuel a near-record-setting performance on Friday.
Inches separated him from the course record and the first 59 of the European Tour. His attempted eagle putt on the last hole went a couple of inches wide to solidify a still-tremendous 60 for the round. That finish left him two strokes behind then-leader Tom Lewis.
After shooting a 65 on Saturday, Uihlein is now in a great position to carry that momentum into the final day. He has little room for error, though, with so many top competitors closing in, so we’ll see if he can handle the pressure.
