Adam Scott Gets Fourth Win of the Year in Talisker Masters

He won last week at the Australian PGA Championship. It is a major on the Australasia PGA Tour and was the only Aussie major that Scott had not previously won. He joins Peter Senior, Greg Norman, Peter Lonard, Robert Allenby and Craig Parry as the only players to have won all three Australasian majors in their career.
This week he successfully defended his 2012 win at the Talisker Masters with a two-shot victory over American Matt Kuchar. Scott’s four rounds of 67-66-66-71 got him to 14 under par for the win.
Kuchar started the final round five shots behind the leader. He posted a three-under par 68 in the final round, but it was not good enough to catch Scott.
This was Scott’s fourth worldwide win of the year. After donning the Green Jacket in April, he also won The Barclays in the FedEx Cup playoffs. He beat Justin Rose, Jason Dufner and Padraig Harrington at the Grand Slam of Golf, held in Bermuda last month.
Scott trails only Tiger Woods and will remain No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking. No. 3 in the world Henrik Stenson won the Race to Dubai at the DP World Tour Championship. He will gain on Scott but remain percentage points behind.
Scott also finished T-3 in the Open Championship at Muirfield and T-5 in the PGA Championship.
Fifty-year-old Vijay Singh jumped into second place with his eight-under par 63 in the third round on Saturday and was paired with Scott for the final round. Singh matched Scott with his own even-par 71 to finish solo third.
Peter Senior, who is 54, finished at two-under-par and T-16. He competes on the Champions Tour and has 22 wins on the Australasia Tour. He is always a factor on leaderboards in Australia.
