2016 Ryder Cup Betting Preview: United States Home Favorites on Odds vs. Europe

Oddsmakers seem to think that will be the case, as the United States is a solid -185 favorite (bet $185 to win $100) versus Europe, which is listed as a +145 underdog (bet $100 to win $145) to capture the event for the fourth-straight time at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.
The Europeans will be tough to beat, though, led by FedEx Cup champion Rory McIlroy, who just took home $10 million for earning the honor with wins in two of the four recently completed playoff tournaments.
McIlroy is coming off a victory in the TOUR Championship, overcoming a two-shot deficit following the third round to force a playoff, which he won on the fourth hole. He also took advantage of a meltdown by American Dustin Johnson, the pre-tournament favorite after he had won the BMW Championship.
Johnson is one of the top players for Team USA along with Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson, neither of whom have played particularly well lately. Ryan Moore lost the playoff to McIlroy for the TOUR Championship title, but he was added as one of the four captain’s picks. The other three are J.B. Holmes, Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar.
Joining McIlroy on Team Europe is reigning Masters champ Danny Willett and 2016 Olympic silver medalist Henrik Stenson, who also won the British Open earlier this year. Willett is the +300 favorite to be the top European rookie on the 2016 Ryder Cup props board, while McIlroy is +450 chalk to be the top European player overall.
Stenson is a +550 co-second choice to be the top European player with Justin Rose followed by Sergio Garcia at +600 on those golf betting lines at the sportsbooks.
In addition, the Americans are -130 to win the first full point in the Ryder Cup, -125 to be the first team to go two up and -165 to reach 10...
