PGA TOUR Media announced the news and scheduled time for play to resume:
Players were able to finish Round 2, the end of which was suspended Friday due to similar conditions, but the rain, wind and lightning soon picked up to force another delay. Although it would take several hours before play was officially called off, it was clear that things weren't going to get better anytime soon:
According to Weather.com, Sunday's forecast for Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, has a high of 82 degrees, but a 40 percent chance of precipitation and thunderstorms. Things look to clear up Monday and beyond.
Most of the players inside the top 20 have yet to begin the third round. Padraig Harrington is currently atop the leaderboard at seven-under, while Patrick Reed (-6), Ian Poulter (-5) and Brendan Steele are nipping at his heels. Phil Mickelson, searching for his first win on Tour since 203, is tied for eighth-place at two-under.
The hope is that conditions clear up, but even if that happens, the conditions are going to be less than ideal. That should make for a very interesting final 36 holes.
