2011 Masters: Why Betting on Tiger Woods Is Just Throwing Money out the Window

What makes anyone think that this week will be different? Haven's fans of his been saying that for over a year and a half now? "Just wait until next week?" It is the same mantra of Chicago Cubs fans, and they have been waiting almost 103 tears now. Why would next week or next year be any different?
The bottom line is that it will not make one bit of difference. Woods has just as much chance of winning the 2011 Masters as the Cubs do of winning the 2011 World Series.
Why not just bet on a professional sports team from Cleveland winning a championship as well? You have just a strong of a chance at winning that wager as well.
Woods is the odds on favorite to win the 2011 Masters, even though he has not won any PGA Tour event since November of 2009. It is no coincident that it was during that same period that his life began to spiral downward. His now ex-wife found out about all of his extra marital affairs, the couple divorced, and Woods has not won since.
He has failed to put together even one solid tournament. He has played well for a couple of rounds, but you need four solid outings to win a major, especially at Augusta. If he plays well Thursday and Friday, he will falter over the weekend when it matters most. Woods no longer strikes that same amount of fear into his opponents. His intimidation factor has all but disappeared, and that was instrumental in his early success.
Woods is now just another player, and that scares the hell out of him. That is because his golf game does not scare any other golfer on the tour anymore, and that will not change at Augusta this weekend.
People betting on Woods to win are doing so with their hearts, and not their heads,...
