Mercedes' dominance reached new heights at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as the two Silver Arrows finished nearly 50 seconds clear of Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo. For Ricciardo, though, the race represented his first podium finish after he was disqualified from second place in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
Almost 30 seconds behind Ricciardo was his teammate, Sebastian Vettel, who climbed from 15th on the grid (following a penalty for a gearbox change) to at the chequered flag.
Valtteri Bottas was fifth for Williams, matching the best finish of his career after being passed by Vettel late in the race.
Behind them, the two Ferraris had an interesting duel, and Fernando Alonso once again came out on top of Kimi Raikkonen, who has struggled in his first year back with the Italian team.
Romain Grosjean—scoring Lotus' first points of the year—Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top 10, with the two McLarens, led by Jenson Button, just missing the points.
With the win, Hamilton also took over the lead in the Drivers' Championship for the first time this season, three points ahead of Rosberg. He also has more than twice as many points as Alonso, the top non-Merc driver: 100-49.
Mercedes leads the Constructors' Championship 197-84 over Red Bull, with Ferrari third, on 66 points.
The next race is on May 25 in Monaco.
