New Circuit Uncertainty
A new grand prix and a new circuit, Sunday will see the first race for all the drivers at the Sochi Autodrom in the 2014 Winter Olympic Park.
While all those on the grid will have had Friday's practices and Saturday's qualifying to familiarise themselves with the track, Sunday's race will still be something of an unknown quantity.
The 53-lap race is set to be a real challenge for all the drivers and a new spectacle for the fans. Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel—who drove the track in August, although not in an F1 car—is expecting a tough test, per Sky Sports' William Esler:
Having driven the full circuit for the first time in the Infiniti Q50, it’s an interesting layout with a good mix of high speed corners and technical sections. It’s going to be a huge challenge in a Formula 1 car for sure and I’m really looking forward to coming back in October.
