Monaco Grand Prix 2012 Results: Mark Webber’s Win Enhances Red Bull’s Mystique

Webber is three points behind Fernando Alonso in Formula One's overall standings. He is tied with Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel.
With two top racers near the top of Formula One's championship standings, Red Bull Racing is becoming the hottest name on the Formula One circuit.
Webber has won the Monaco Grand Prix two out of the last three years. He has won eight races in his Formula One career.
Vettel was the world champion driver in 2010 and 2011. He grabbed a fourth-place finish in this year's Monaco Grand Prix, but it was still a strong showing. Vettel used Romain Grosjean's accident to move up in the race, and managed to entrench himself among the leaders.
Red Bull Racing now has 146 points in Formula One's constructor standings. McLaren is second with 108. A 38-point lead is sizable at this point in the racing season. Two strong drivers with formidable reputations make that lead look even more impressive.
With 14 races left on Formula One's 2012 racing calendar, Red Bull Racing must not get comfortable.
Two more Grand Prix races are next. The next Grand Prix is in Montreal. After that, the drivers will head to Valencia, Spain.
Red Bull Racing has two drivers in position to run down Fernando Alonso as Formula One's leading racer. Webber and Vettel are capable of finishing in the top two spots this year.
Their strong racing reputations, recent success and confidence could give them the edge they need down the stretch.
Racing is a team sport, but not in the traditional sense. Red Bull Racing's recent dominance gives a racing team a rare opportunity to take the Formula One world head on, showing their team is on the right track.
