Lewis Hamilton Wins the Most Exciting Race of 2010 in Canada

That was without a doubt the best race this season, and if I’m honest, I can’t really see it being beaten. (well, maybe in Brazil?)
Anyway, the racing was close, exciting and eventful and I can’t remember writing as much since that historic Brawn victory back in Australia 2009.
The tension was clear from the start as a Gear Box change forced Webber back to P7 thus promoting Button, Alonso, and Saturday’s other hero, Liuzzi.
The two top teams, Red Bull and McLaren, were on different strategies, the prospect of a safety car was strong, and that first corner just oozed with potential.
The lights went out and the top drivers sped away cleanly. I held my breath as they darted into turn one. Finally some real action off the line as, whilst a BMW Sauber and a Renault spun off in the background, Liuzzi and Massa turned into bumper car drivers at the front.
Petrov was the Renault man and de la Rossa the Sauber victim. The Russian had started relatively well but had just touched the grass with his right rear wheel.
This sent the car spinning into a defenceless Sauber and eventually led to the first of many penalties.
Needless to say, Liuzzi, Massa, and de la Rossa all had to pit for various reasons after just one lap.

Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso, Button, Webber, Kubica, Sutil, Schumacher, Hulkenberg, Alguersuari, Buemi, Kovalainen, Rosberg, Barrichello, Trulli, di Grassi, Senna, Petrov, Chandhok, Glock, de la Rossa, Massa, Kobayashi
By lap three, the Red Bull’s tyres were coming into their own, but Button was doing well to hold off Webber. Meanwhile at the back, Kobayashi was forced to retire after a punishing collision with the wall of Champions.
