According to grandprix.com, however, "Team supremo Ron Dennis addressed the media in Barcelona on Thursday and admitted it is possible Fernando Alonso will not be in Melbourne."
Alonso Released from Hospital Wednesday, Feb. 25 Alonso was discharged from hospital more than three days on from his crash in Formula One testing.
According to motorsport.com, the Spaniard was released on Wednesday afternoon after his father, his manager Luis Garcia Abad, and McLaren's Eric Boullier had visited him earlier on in the day.
As noted by the BBC, the former Ferrari man will miss the final test dates and has returned to his family home to rest ahead of the new season.
