Saturday’s Top 14 final will bring a close to the European club campaign as Stade Francais seek to steal the limelight from under Clermont Auvergne’s nose. The Parisian underdogs deserve their place in the French finale following a dominant 33-16 win over defending champions Toulon, while a closely fought 18-14 victory against Toulouse saw Clermont through. Les Jaunards will appear in their first championship clash since 2010, but it’s been an even longer wait for Stade to make the playoff crescendo, making their first final in eight years. Both teams have motivation to break...

The end of the European season is finally within sight after it was decided this past weekend Champions Cup runners-up Clermont Auvergne will face Stade Francais for this year’s Top 14 crown. Saracens and Glasgow Warriors have already entered their names into the history books after winning the domestic trophies of the Premiership and Pro12, respectively, but one champion is yet to be named. Due to the lack of European action in recent days, there hasn’t been a great deal of change in our rankings of the continent’s top 15 outfits, but a few French fancies have seen a change in...

The quiet before the storm of this year’s Rugby World Cup is an agonising one, but the giants of France and the Southern Hemisphere ensure fans still have plenty of action to enjoy. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes’ march toward Super Rugby success continued this weekend. Their triumph over the Highlanders cemented a first-place finish in the New Zealand conference and a home semi-final as a result, but there were other star displays to watch out for as we broke down...

Don’t mess with Georgia Page, because she is one tough rugby player. The USA Sevens Rugby Facebook page shared a video of the Lindenwood women’s player making a crushing tackle and clearing out a ruck just moments after getting her nosed smashed up. Think of her next time you see a sports star flopping, diving or rolling around the floor. Respect. Page, interviewed by Buzzfeed, said: “I hope that it does empower girls to want to play rugby.” [Facebook: USA Sevens Rugby, h/t SportsJoe.ie] Read more Rugby Union news on BleacherReport.com Read More →
