If Jordan Spieth wants to carry a two-tournament winning streak into the U.S. Open, he’s going to have his work cut out for him the rest of the weekend.  Spieth carded a two-under 70 in Thursday’s first round at the 2016 Memorial Tournament, putting him six back of leader Dustin Johnson. The world No. 2 is tied for 32nd place overall with a number of players still remaining on the course. Playing partner Rory McIlroy sits one stroke behind Spieth in a tie for 54th. Both golfers played inconsistent rounds, with McIlroy interspersing the occasional befuddling hole with an otherwise...

The PGA Tour is expected to officially announce Wednesday that its annual event at the Trump Doral Resort in Miami will move to Mexico City in 2017, according to Bob Harig of ESPN.com, citing a report from the Miami Herald on Tuesday.  The WGC-Cadillac Championship was played at Doral in March, though Harig reported that “Cadillac did not renew its sponsorship of the World Golf Championship event and the PGA Tour had been in the process of trying to find a replacement.” “I believe they are sincere when they said they didn’t want to leave an event with a 54-year...

The conclusion of three rounds of play cut the 2016 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships field in half Sunday in Eugene, Oregon.   The 30 teams played three rounds of stroke play from Friday to Sunday, with the top 15 now still alive.
