Ross Fisher climbed to the summit of the leaderboard at the 2016 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on Friday, remaining on 11 under after Round 2. The Englishman ended the day on four under for his second round at the St. Andrews Old Course to keep his nose in front of overnight leader Alex Noren and his Swedish countryman Joakim Lagergren. Tiger Woods is set to make his long-awaited return to competitive golf at the PGA Tour’s Safeway Open, which starts Oct. 13. According to Bob Harig of ESPN.com, captain Steve Stricker named Tiger Woods, Davis Love III and Fred Couples as his assistant captains for next year’s event Wednesday.
