A Fox Carolina sports anchor appeared to misspeak in the most embarrassing manner while discussing the Deutsche Bank Championship, calling the golf tournament the “Douchebag Championship.” Greensboro, N.C., sportscaster Aaron Cheslock plays it off fairly well, but it definitely sounds like he insulted the entire PGA Tour. Tiger Woods has a new front-runner for the title of “biggest fan.” Woods’ daughter, Sam, was seen at the Deutsche Bank Championship sporting a matching red-and-black outfit like her dad, following him around the course. Woods is currently 15 strokes behind leader Henrik Stenson (but that clearly doesn’t matter to Sam). Hat tip to CBS Sports for the video. Read...

The Golf Board offers an alternative to walking or riding in a cart to travel the course, giving you the feeling of surfing or snowboarding during your round of golf. Its video claims you can play 18 holes on a single charge and travel up the steepest hills golf courses have to offer, all while carrying your clubs. The Golf Board’s Kickstarter needs to raise $100,000 for these boards to be made. While...

Baseball pitchers can only dream of putting a curve on a ball like this. World No. 2 Rafael Nadal kicked off his 2013 U.S. Open with an opening-round matchup against American Ryan Harrison on Monday. Nadal won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2, but tennis fans will remember Nadal’s around-the-net winner after Harrison’s overhead smash more than anything. Read more Tennis...

Francesca Schiavone had a tough first-round draw against Serena Williams in the U.S. Open. After falling to 0-6, 0-2, Schiavone and Williams slogged it out on a 26-shot rally that Serena ended up winning, which drew sympathetic cheers from the crowd. Downtrodden, Schiavone asked for a hug from the ball boy. Schiavone ended up losing 6-0, 6-1. Hat tip to FTW for the find. Read more Tennis...

For 42 years, the green jacket awarded to the first winner of the Masters has been in Michael Lackovic’s closet. “Years fly by,” said Lackovic, a mortgage broker in suburban Atlanta, as reported by Dave Kindred of Golf Digest. The jacket was, according to Lackovic, “just hanging in a moldy old closet, not doing anybody any good.” Augusta National Golf Club...

PGA Tour golfers K.J. Choi and Greg Chalmers both recorded aces on the 14th hole in Round 3 of The Barclays. Even more remarkably, the golfers were playing in consecutive groups. Both golfers used their pitching wedges to record the holes-in-one on the 135-yard, par-three 14th hole, and the two incredible shots came just minutes apart. Video via PGA Tour. Note: This is not a “This Is SportsCenter” ad. PGA golfer Bubba Watson recently treated ESPN headquarters like a golf course, playing a tough lie off an employee’s keyboard. Although Watson takes a solid whack at the keyboard and breaks off at least one key, he seems pretty pleased with his shot. Hat tip to For the Win for the video and GIF. Through three rounds at the PGA Championship, Tiger Woods is tied for 50th at four-over overall. That doesn’t mean he can’t draw a crowd better than just about anyone else on the tour. See that tiny blip on the green surrounded by the mass of fans? Yeah, that’s Tiger. Read more Golf news on BleacherReport.com Read More →

So far, we’ve heard “rutabaga” and “mashed potatoes” from the gallery after Tiger’s tee shots at Oak Hill. Well, apparently, these fans have gone too far with their latest: “scalloped potatoes.” Commentator Nick Faldo stated, “Please, enough of that…this is the major” upon hearing the prankster, to which Verne Lundquist added,...
