The men’s Wimbledon final should be a great one. I think it could be a classic. There’s certainly plenty on the line, and I think there will be lots of drama. Roger Federer is trying to add to his record 16 Grand Slams, by winning No. 17, and his first in several years. Andy Murray is trying to become the first British Grand Slam champ since 1936. Murray has the weight of the country on...

Tuesday was yet another exciting—and wet—day of tennis. There were plenty of great matches, especially the Angelique Kerber-Sabine Lisicki match, and I expect even more on Wednesday. My record now stands at 51-23 for the tournament. There should be four really good matches on the men’s side as they get down to the Final Four. Here’s my look at the men’s quarterfinals. No....

Is it the big three or the big four? Or the big two? It seems like every other tournament people are changing their minds about the state of men’s tennis. Wimbledon should go a long way in determining the real pecking order of men’s tennis. If Novak Djokovic wins, I think he solidifies his spot at the top of the game. If Rafael Nadal wins, then he is clearly the top dog in tennis. If Roger...

There was a time when I thought women’s tennis was in a perfect place. There were five players who I thought were the very best in the game, and all of them were champions. I truly believed they were ready to dominate the game and give us some incredible matches and rivalries for years to come. The five players were Maria Sharapova, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Kim Clijsters and Justine Henin....

History will be made. That’s the one thing we know for sure about Sunday’s final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. There’s much at stake when the two collide, but either way, history will be made. Djokovic is going for the career Slam and, maybe just as importantly, the Nole Slam. It would be his fourth consecutive Slam. It’s amazing to think that he has won 27 straight...

The tennis could not have been much better on the men’s side Tuesday. A great day of action all around. I expect more of the same with the rest of the quarterfinals. I did pick three of the four right on Tuesday, bringing my totals to 58-18 for the tournament. Now here’s my look at Wednesday’s matches. No. 2 Maria Sharapova vs. No. 23 Kaia Kanepi: Sharapova is coming off a...

So close to perfect. I went 7-1, only losing the last match of he day in my picks for Day 7. That takes my weekly total to 42-14. From here on out I will pick every singles match. There are plenty of great matches to come. The tournament really begins on Sunday, with so many of the best players playing over the next two days. Only two will be crowned champions by next weekend. Here’s my look at...

There were some surprises on Friday at the French Open. Will there be more on Saturday? I went 5-3 on Friday, taking my totals to 35-13. Here’s my look at some of Saturday’s top matches. No. 8 Janko Tipsarevic vs. No. 29 Julien Benneteau: This should be a good battle. The French crowd will be behind Benneteau, but I still like the Serb to get through.Winner: Tipsarevic in five sets No....

I bounced back in a big way on Tuesday with a 7-3 mark in my predictions. That brings my record to a respectable 13-7 so far. Hopefully, I will do even better with my Day 4 picks. No. 11 Gilles Simon vs. Brian Baker: Simon will have the crowd on his side, which could be a good thing, but could also put more pressure on him. Baker is playing with house money, he has nothing to lose considering...

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Rafael Nadal is the heavy favorite for the French Open. The reality is I can’t see too many players having a chance at beating him. Perhaps Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer or Tomas Berdych could take the win but for the most part, I think most people would be very shocked if Nadal didn’t win his seventh French Open. Still, the matches...
