Tiger Woods has a birdie on the fourth hole to go minus three for the tournament, early Friday morning. The weather is very nice, so you will see more low scores on Friday, in the minus-five to -six range once again by a few players. The leaders at -5 and -6 need to repeat the previous days action and reach 10-12 under if possible, to hold off challenges and cement a 2-3 shot lead going into the weekend. With...

Tiger Woods is only a birdie or two from already contending in the Players Championship at Sawgrass this next four days. J.P. Holmes leads the way at minus six in the first round of play. Good scoring seems to be happening for most players keeping the ball under control, hitting fairways, and making putts. I would think the cut line might be about even par if the scoring continues as present,without...

Tiger Woods wins about every third tournament, so I would not be surprised to see a strong showing this week. That is, if Tiger plays like we have grown accustomed to. No B-game will suffice here, as most of the players are at the top of their game and are ready for the season’s “fifth” major, the Players Championship. I will again choose Tiger on my Fantasy Golf team this week on...

Tiger Woods will win this weekend. It’s time to get back to business. Wins make the memories fade of past digressions. Wins rekindle the fans’ admiration and sponsors’ greed. Wins are what Tiger Woods needs in his mind, and wins are what he will get. This is a tune-up for a run at the Players Championship, and the U.S. Open. The public and most golf fans will revel if Woods...

I wonder about the conversation during these great events pitting the rich, indulged, best golfer in the world against the people’s choice, humanitarian, victim of cancer, second-best golfer in the world. I will take Tiger Woods to win at Quail Hollow, warming up for a run at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach this summer. I know old habits are hard to break, so I hope he has a girlfriend at least...

Brian Gay, last year’s winner at the Verizon Heritage, played at Harbor Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina and will defend his title April 15 to 18. Super low scores will be the only thing, hopefully, holding our interest after the barrage of fireworks, eagles, story lines, and drama filled our cerebral cortex to overload on the last golf weekend. I suspect we will see Tiger next at...

Tiger Woods starts the weekend play of the Masters only three shots behind the leaders, none of whom, have won previously in Augusta. A quick eagle on a par five, a couple of well-timed birdies, and your Saturday leader board should include Woods by the day’s end. On Sunday, the carnage should be evident early, as the roars of the crowd will stifle any hope of another player stepping up to challenge...

Tiger Woods starts the tour off with a stop in Augusta, where pent up frustration, drama, emotion, and loneliness awaits. How many photographrer’s are dreaming of a shot with a steamy blond, creeping to his room at 3 am? Where does Tiger stay at Augusta? Will he play well without all the extracurricular fun to relieve the stress? Being relaxed is key to playing well. So, I can understand...

Last time I left you at Doral, where Ernie Els got me a 16th. Little did I know he would go on a tear and win twice out of the next three weeks. Wow! Nice going, Mr. Els, who jumped into the No. 1 spot in the FedEx Cup rankings. I am currently mired in the 73rd percentile, at the position of 35,964th, with 1,795 points. This next tournament is the Shell Houston Open in Texas. My happy picks for the...

It was nice to sleep in on Sunday after the time change. I fed the dogs and thought I finally have a little time for a nice round of golf. I had a motorcycle spill a couple years ago, and the tear in my shoulder, and overall back pain has kept me off the course for quite a while. I rolled down Highway 80 as Another One Bites The Dust blared out of the radio. Classic rock is like one big time warp trip....
