Even though I’ve watched the Masters on television for 25 years, I’ve never felt qualified to judge the holes. “Television just doesn’t do the course justice,” is what I’ve heard over and over from lucky folks who have walked and/or played the course. But after walking the course and watching some of the players during Tuesday’s practice round,...

Roger Federer is the greatest tennis player of all time, but he’s not the best player right now. Like Tiger Woods, many sports fans and so-called experts think Federer will reclaim the No. 1 ranking at some point. But reality says otherwise. Federer would have more luck ascending Mount Everest without oxygen in January than trekking to the top of the tennis world. Here are six...

Dear Tiger, I really thought this year was going to be different. Newly single, new bachelor pad, new swing. Buddhist, balanced, well-behaved. Not exactly. You’re a mess out there. One Bleacher Report writer mentioned a rumor of you playing yourself in the sequel to Despicable Me. If not, how about starring in Anger Management 2? Seriously, do everyone a favor and...

Sorry, but the PGA tour has become all but unwatchable. The first three tournaments of the year were won by guys named Jonathan Byrd, Mark Wilson, and Jhonattan Vegas. Riveting stuff. Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson stepped it up at Torrey Pines (the Farmers Insurance Open to be official). But in the past 18 months the PGA tour has sunk lower than the Titanic. Let’s take a look...

Hi all, Bleacher Report contributor Scott Tiernan here with a live blog of the 2011 Australian Open men’s final. It may not be the final most people predicted, but Novak Djokovic vs. Andy Murray promises to be a perfect finish to the year’s first major. Can Murray punch a hole in Djokovic’s dominating baseline game? Can Djokovic power through Murray’s all-court brilliance? ...

Hey all, Bleacher Report contributor Scott Tiernan here offering a live blog of the Australian Open semifinal match between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Federer’s last two grand slam semifinal losses have come at the racket of Djokovic, most recently the five-set thriller at the 2010 U.S. Open. Federer now gets a chance for some payback down under. Join me for commentary and analysis...

The first sign of trouble came at the 2009 PGA. Tiger Woods had never lost a major when leading after three rounds. Two shot lead on Y.E. Yang at Hazeltine. Major No. 15 was a given, right? Then Tiger made more bogeys in the final round than he had in the first three combined. Lost by two. His surly demeanor revealed more than his mediocre golf game. He was visibly agitated. Flustered....

Maybe Todd Woodbridge will...

The inevitable is coming, the match everyone wants. After a scare in the second round, Roger Federer dispatched Xavier Malisse and Tommy Robredo to reach the quarters. Nadal looks like he’s playing against juniors. It reminds me of when Kramer signed up for that kids’ karate class. Just a few more wins by Federer and Nadal and tennis fans get to watch what I’m sure...
