I do realise that nothing can ever be certain, and that therefore my title is probably far too gloomy. It’s also worth noting that the man on pole is not the best at starts, which could bode well for tomorrow. However (and this is a big however), the Red Bulls have simply been untouchable since they first took to the track on Friday. The only man who has come close to challenging them,...

I have absolutely no idea how to report this Grand Prix. I think I should probably start by saying it was unquestionably dull, but my problem comes from that incident on lap 48. As an Alonso fan, I was pleased to see the faster Ferrari driver take the lead. I think the circumstances were very different from Austria 2002 (Schumacher’s infamous overtake of Barrichello), but, I can very clearly...

The qualifying for this weekend’s German Grand Prix certainly wasn’t the worst we’ve seen, but it didn’t exactly set my heart racing either (which seems to be a worrying development in 2010 F1 qualification). Yet again, the first session was a forgone conclusion, the second session wasn’t much better, but there was at least a bit of excitement for the final shoot out. ...

If I’m honest, I don’t quite know how to evaluate this race. I think it was, compared to other events this year, definitely a competitive one. I was happy to see Webber cross the line in first place, especially after the baffling decision to favour Vettel for qualifying. Similarly, I was pleased that the British fans’ loyalty was rewarded with strong finishes from their men. However,...

Whilst it is great for the British fans to have their Grand Prix secured for another 17 years, and whilst it is also great to see the grandstands full, I think you would be hard pressed not to be disappointed by Silverstone’s 2010 qualifying session. The first session was pointless as ever, the second session was better, but the final “shootout” was a forgone conclusion. Sorry people...

I realize many of you will argue that the Webber crash alone made this race at least a little exciting. However, whilst I agree the incident was indeed tense (and thank God both Webber and Kovalainen walked away safely), the resulting safety car actually made the race even more boring than it otherwise would have been. The start was good at least. Vettel sped away comfortably, but a slow Webber gave...

I guess after all the excitement of Canada it was going to be very hard for this weekend to even come close. Indeed, the Valencia GP has quite a reputation for being one of the dullest tracks on the calendar. There were some moments of interest, but the much promised closeness and tension simply never came. Qualifying One Regular fans of F1 will know by now how pointless the first session of...

I really hoped my favourite F1 event of 2010 wouldn’t disappoint and it certainly didn’t! That was without a doubt the best race this season, and if I’m honest, I can’t really see it being beaten. (well, maybe in Brazil?) Anyway, the racing was close, exciting and eventful and I can’t remember writing as much since that historic Brawn victory back in Australia 2009. The...

I have been waiting for this Grand Prix to come along since it was first announced that Canada was back on the calendar for 2010, and boy did it deliver! That was unquestionably the best qualifying session of 2010 so far, and that isn’t just because someone other than a Red Bull is on pole! I would also like to say that it was thoroughly brilliant to see all of the grandstands full and even...

I’m not quite sure how to evaluate this race. I think up until lap 40 we had a very strong contender for “worst race of the season,” then madness ensued for a few choice laps, before the race then quietened down for the finish. Don’t get me wrong, the two exciting moments were fantastic, and Lewis and Jenson both deserved their finishing positions. However, I think it would...
