Greetings to all rugby fans out there. This is the first in what I hope will be a new weekly column dedicated to discussions on Super Rugby and also any matters pertaining to rugby—all the good, the bad, the controversial and downright ridiculous. We are about halfway through this year’s Super Rugby competition, and there are many things that can be be said, some good and some...

In 2010, the Stormers reached their first Super Rugby final. They ultimately lost in the final against a more experienced and fired-up Bulls team. It is as simple as that. We have two mouth-watering clashes...

The rumor running mill around the Cape is that Stormers coach Allister Coetzee is contemplating starting with the experienced Jantjes at fullback for this crunch match. This move would presumably see Gio Aplon being...

As we approach the final week in the Round Robin stage of the inaugural Super 15, there appears to be a bit of a log-jam atop the standings. Teams will be fighting it out for a place in the play-offs, as well as home-ground advantage for the “quarter” or “semi” final stages of the knock-outs. It promises to be an exciting weekend of rugby. But who will finish top of the Super...
