McLaren has confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will not be favored in his bid for a second drivers title. With Jenson close enough in points, the team feels that both drivers are permitted the opportunity to put their best foot forward. They expect Jenson Button to up his game as the show heads to Germany this weekend. So it would seem that McLaren are preparing to let their guys fight it out for the championship...

There have been various optimistic thoughts on Michael Schumacher’s underwhelming return this year. Many have said the best is yet to come. Some feel that he is just warming up, and when he is done doing that, he will obliterate his rivals once more. Today sees possibly the most ludicrous of opinions from Mercedes employee Norbert Haug. Haug has proclaimed that next year Schumacher will go for...

A miraculous game of musical chairs seems to be taking place at Hispania Racing. With Japanese driver Sakon Yammamoto taking place of Bruno Senna in Great Britain and Karun Chandhok in Germany, the trend of substitutions looks to continue as former Red Bull driver and Hispania test driver Christian Klien also waits in the wings for a few Grand Prix appearances. Hispania Racing have cut their losses...

Harry Potter may have got his own theme park, yet sadly Formula 1 will not be casting its own spell over the general public. Plans to build a park celebrating the sport collapsed when Dubai based company Union Properties closed down their plans to build the attraction. The economic crisis seemingly gained another victim. In honour of the theme park that could have been, here are my ideas for attractions...

The FIA were foolish for disallowing Stefan GP entry to this season’s championship. The team appeared miles ahead of US F1, who ultimately let the sport down with their lack of a campaign after gaining initial entry into the sport. Possibly the only saving grace for rejecting Stefan GP was with keeping Jacques Villeneuve away from a drive. This is not to say that his talents would have been unwelcome....

To be frank, Sebastian Buemi is not going to challenge for world titles. It’s also unlikely that the driver will fight for individual race wins. Yet, the boy has talent, which thus far has been let down by a faltering car. The Toro Rosso team has given him little to work with and this season languish somewhere between the top eight competitive teams, and the lacklustre rookies at the back. The...

A few days ago I remarked upon how the frictions between Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button seemed more fabricated. They appeared to be a controversial rumour as opposed to hardcore truth. Voices from within the sport commented on the situation. Some of these just increased the media coverage on the supposed debacle. One of those who aided the media in portraying a tense rivalry was Red Bull’s...

Anyone not familiar with the sport of Formula One would hear the furor surrounding Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button at the moment and wonder when they became a married couple. The in-fighting, the competitiveness surrounding results, and the rumoured tension between the two; if that doesn’t sound like a couple well into their marriage I don’t know what else does. To me the scrutiny surrounding...

It is hard not to notice that the newest challengers for the 13th team is composed of former members of the ill-fated US Formula 1 team. When news emerged that little progression had been seen through US F1, the sport’s governing body suffered a wealth of embarrassment. How could a collection of high profile individuals allow a team entry who would ultimately bring nothing to the table. A model...

Robert Kubica has signed for Renault for another season, ksignalling another year that is unlikely to yield a title challenge. Rumors of initial interest from Ferrari fell through when Felipe Massa re-signed for the Italian team. So Kubica remains at the team that show little potential to win races and championships. All he could hope for is a continuation of the outperformance that he currently extracts...
