Tiger Woods Injury: Updates on Golf Star’s Recovery from Back Surgery

Woods Comments on Recovery Sunday, June 26 Woods spoke to Jim Nantz of CBS Sports during the broadcast of the Quicken Loans National, telling him that he wants to play this year, adding (via ESPN.com's Jason Sobel): "I don't know if I will, but I want to."
"I'm just trying to get my body to do what I want it to do, when I need it to do it," Woods added (via Golf Channel). "Gonna take time."
While addressing reporters on June 22, the 14-time major champion revealed he remains sore on a daily basis and that there is still no timetable for his return to the course, according to Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press.
Woods added that he's "not quite there yet" in terms of his recovery. However, he did note that he's played 18 holes on consecutive days as part of his rehab.
Woods' Pursuit of History Derailed by Injury Woods missed last week's U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, which means his next opportunity to come back for a major tournament is The Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland, beginning on July 14.
It has been eight years since Woods last won a major championship, and the longer his absence extends, the further out of reach Jack Nicklaus' major title record of 18 gets.
