USMNT Watch: Yedlin Makes Tottenham Debut, Guzan Records Clean Sheet

After being named to the matchday squad for the first time, DeAndre Yedlin came on for the final 11 minutes of Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
Yedlin's first match in a Tottenham shirt came four days before another meaningful date on the USMNT calendar, as the Yanks host Mexico in San Antonio on Wednesday night.

Yedlin Debuts, Guzan Records Clean Sheet
After garnering buzz before the match for his inclusion in the 18, Yedlin made his way on to the pitch for Vlad Chiriches in the 79th minute.
Yedlin almost had a nightmare of an appearance, but he was helped out by Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm, who denied a Fabian Delph shot after Yedlin fell in the box in the 85th minute.
Other than that brief display of nerves, Yedlin turned in a solid shift in the defeat.
If all goes well over the next 12 months, he could be one of two Americans in the club's setup; 17-year-old Cameron Carter-Vickers is currently turning heads at the U21 level.
On the other side of the pitch on Saturday was Brad Guzan, who earned a key shutout in between the pipes for the Villans. The USMNT No. 1 'keeper made three saves as Villa remained six points clear of the relegation zone.
Geoff Cameron played all 90 minutes of Stoke City's 1-1 draw with West Ham United, while Tim Howard started and was beaten on a penalty in Everton's 1-1 tie at Swansea City.
